The University of 南 Alabama has announced a new scholarship available to active-duty 联合国成员国.S. military and all public safety employees employed by city, county, state or federal agencies. The scholarship is for those seeking an undergraduate degree.
Application Process and Details for Active-Duty Military
The Heroes 学者hip is designed to cover undergraduate tuition expenses not met by the federal government’s provision to active-duty personnel for tuition assistance. The program allows students to enroll in online or in-person courses, providing flexibility to accommodate their schedules. 申请人 must be active members in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard and will be required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

Application Process and Details for Public Safety Employees
The Heroes 学者hip is designed to help cover tuition expenses not met by federal or other tuition assistance. The program will allow students to enroll in online or in-person courses, providing flexibility to accommodate their schedules. 申请人 must be full time public safety employees in EMS, law enforcement, fire-rescue, and emergency management fields. 申请人 will also be required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

- Once admitted to 南, you will be directed to complete the Heroes scholarship application 在JagSPOT, where you will supply proof of employment.
- 南 provides a scholarship of 37.5% of the remaining 学费的平衡 after the award of all other applicable aid.
- Only new part-time students are eligible for this award and it does not stack on top of any other 大学 funding. Currently enrolled students do not qualify.
- Some public safety agencies may offer additional aid.

We work with the Mobile County Deputy Sheriff & Correctional Officer Foundation to provide an undergraduate education to a new group of heroes.

- The Foundation pays 50% the remaining balance and 南 pays 75% of the remaining 学费的平衡.
